Children’s Meditations

Good Morning
A guided meditation most suited for a child still waking up, in bed, or having a quiet or difficult morning… An opportunity to think about their day ahead, and to imagine… how they would like it to be.
Creating the thoughts and feelings of the day, thinking about how they might respond, or what feelings they might have. Using their tools of desire, imagination and expectation to create.
The meditation offers hints and clues to how your child might make choices, or respond in certain circumstances. It reminds them of their kind and loving heart, a love that is bigger than them, that lives within them and within everyone. Introducing them to a technique to help them remember and access this loving kindness within them throughout their day.
A Sacred Place
A guided meditation helping the child to relax their body, emotions and mind before journeying to their Sacred Place. The listener is encouraged to use their imagination to create a safe and sacred place in nature to spend some time and just be. This place asks nothing of them, here they are free to be safe, held, loved and comfortable. They take time to create the things they want there with their imagination and places or things they love.
They open up all of their senses to explore this place… what can they see, smell, feel, hear and taste? Using their imagination and their senses anything is possible. A unique, safe and sacred place just for them to spend time and Be. Observing and exploring this place so that it becomes familiar, and they can return at any time.
Spending some magical time with a tree, they didn’t know they could climb, listening to and talking with it as it shares it’s Wisdom with them, and they tell the tree how they are feeling.
Imagining a bon fire; a good fire, they have the opportunity to let go their worries or concerns to this fire, as the fire burns away their troubles.
Resting in their safe and sacred place under the stars, they may drift off to sleep and dream, or choose to return to their body, rested and restored.

My Beautiful Heart

I’m Sorry
A beautiful meditation to help the listener forgive themselves for something they may have done. Relaxing first and entering their sacred place, where they feel safe and held, surrounded by things they love, surrounded by beauty and love and light. And then taking a journey of healing and self-love. Following the rays of a rainbow they enter a magical world of imagination. Spending time in the ray of red light, the excitement of the possibility of change embraces them. They reach up and move into the Orange…imagining a garden where the Earth is inviting them to lay down and remember something they want to say Sorry for. Feeling safe and held they can feel OK to forgive and be forgiven. Hugging themselves, held by the Earth, they find the courage to forgive and hug that one as well. All is forgiven and all is well. They come away feeling lighter, giggling and grateful… remembering how easy it can be to say I’m Sorry.

Shine like the Sun
Using their imagination, the listener is guided to be in a park with the sun shining on them and everyone else in the park. They are encouraged to think about how the Sun shines on everyone and everything. Noticing how the sun makes people feel good and happy, the puppy’s and children play, and the trees and grass grow. They imagine a beautiful warm glowing sun within their heart, pouring out love and kindness all the time, just like the sun shines.
They realise that when they are kind and warm to pets, plants, others it makes other people feel good too. They are encouraged to think about how far this loving kindness could spread from one person to another, if everyone just shined like the sun.

Kindness
This Kindness Meditation for Children helps the child to remember what it feels like when someone is kind towards them. After remembering this they are encouraged to think of a person they might like to be kind towards, and imagine themselves being kind towards them in that way. As they draw, they may remember more…or think of new ways they could be kind to other people in their lives. They finish the meditation giving themselves a big hug; being kind to themselves.
At the beginning of this meditation the listener is invited to have some paper and pens, pencils or crayons close by so that when they finish meditating, they can draw. Drawing helps them remember and ground their meditation experience. As a child is given the space to draw after meditation, the positive effects of the meditation can continue to flow and offer them further inspiration as they draw.
